devolo Vianect® AIR TV: Comprehensive software update for Mac users
The devolo trademark Vianect® stands for innovative digital connection solutions. The Aachen-based company premièred the first product under the newly created product brand, Vianect® AIR TV, in September 2010. Just six months after the market launch, devolo has responded to a wide variety of suggestions from Mac users and provided these in the form of a comprehensive driver update for Apple operating systems OS X 10.5 ("Leopard") and 10.6 ("Snow Leopard") as a free download at www.devolo.de. The primary, critical improvement is stability under Apple‘s latest OS. In addition, the improvements were focused on making initial use particularly easy.
Current driver versions are also available for Windows users to download. devolo likewise supports all current operating systems, such as Windows XP, Vista and 7. For Windows Vista and 7, both 32-bit and 64-bit drivers are available.
Vianect® AIR TV—It‘s easy to show computer content on your TV or projector
devolo Vianect® AIR TV provides a particularly easy way to expand audio and video content wirelessly from laptops or desktop computers to a TV set or projector. Thus viewing HD videos, YouTube clips, holiday pictures or Web content is no longer limited by a small screen—Vianect® AIR TV makes enjoying them on the big screen a shared experience. The devolo product is based on Wireless USB technology, a wireless variant of the familiar USB standard. The broadband connection has a range of approximately ten metres in buildings, making it the optimal symbiosis of high transfer rate and quick and easy installation. Thus devolo‘s "plug & play" philosophy has also been implemented in the Vianect® AIR TV. The transmission is designed for HD signals with 720p or a resolution of 1,400 x 1,050 pixels. For this purpose, the Vianect® AIR TV computer adapter is connected to a USB port of the computer; the AIR TV station can be connected to the screen via HDMI or D-Sub RGB. The audio signal is either transmitted via HDMI or output via a 3.5 mm mini-jack on the receiver.
